Jesse, a senior at the University of Iowa, is planning to pursue an M.D./Ph.D. following graduation. Jesse has been a member of the E. Dale Abel lab group for the past 2 years, where he’s studied the connection between aberrant metabolism and heart failure. He is particularly interested in how basic science research can be translated to better inform decision-making by physicians. Jesse intends to become a medical scientist, splitting his time between treating patients in the clinic and working to better understand pathology in the lab.
When Jesse’s not in the lab or studying, he can be found playing ultimate frisbee, traveling, and attempting to line dance.
