Increasing Environmental Awareness Among Students in Fraternity and Sorority Life
The aim of this project is to increase awareness of environmentally sustainable practices in the Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) community. This will be accomplished by using round-table discussions with sustainability chairs as both a measure of impact and a gauge of the current community needs. The ideas gained from these meetings will further help guide the direction of the project throughout the semester. Each chapter within the four councils will receive a compostable/recyclable basket filled with educational and promotional materials from community partners. The contents will be a mix of science-based brochures, plans for environmentally-conscious initiatives, and other encouraging resources to help students begin to implement more sustainable practices, both within their chapters and their own lives. This project will involve close collaboration with the FSL office and the Office of Sustainability in order to achieve some of their long-term goals as well.
