A Supplemental Magazine for STEM

Timothy created a magazine that would students participating in outreach activities could take home as a resource to learn more about opportunities in science.  The magazine Timothy designed is filled with information about the different fields of STEM, and also includes interviews with undergraduate students that discuss their involvement with research on campus. The magazine was handed out to students for his group project entitled “Scientists Promoting Awareness of Research Careers” (SPARC), where close to 80 high school students learned about different career opportunities in science through guest speakers, laboratory tours, and hands-on science experiments. The magazine can be distributed to different events and local groups on campus in the future in order to increase the impact factor for all of our outreach programs.
